A long history of Holding things together
Our story started in Waterloo, Sydney, in 1957. Theo Rossi built a laminating machine to make the world’s first synthetic flat strapping, giving businesses a new way to secure their goods.
By 1980 we kept finding better ways to solve everyday problems. Tapex developed plastic barricade fencing for worksites and the first underground detectable warning tape for buried telecommunications cables. From holding a load together to helping a crew find a cable, our products grew around the things customers needed to protect.
That’s still the thread running through Tapex Industrial. We’re part of the family-owned Tapex Group, and we pair specialist products with people who’ll help you work through the choice.

Michelle Moreira leads Tapex Industrial’s DigSafe range across Australia and New Zealand, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in business development and commercial leadership. Her work with utilities, asset owners and engineers has built a practical understanding of underground asset protection—from what customers need to protect to how products get assessed, specified and used. She helps connect the right solutions with the people and projects that need them.
