Give future crews a warning, a route to locate and protection suited to the exposure. Dig Safe® combines visible tapes, conductive and electronic locating options, and cable covers. Choose the layers around the cable, the site and the asset owner’s requirements. Tapex’s product information and sales support help carry those choices from the drawing to the order.

Put the protection into the plan.

Long runs? We’ve got a considered supply plan for that.

Protect, detect, warn and monitoring for buried cables.

Electrical warning tape provides a visible message above a buried cable; a cable protection cover also adds a physical barrier. Non-detectable tape warns crews when exposed during digging. Detectable tape adds a conductor for locating. Dig Safe® cable covers provide limited mechanical protection as well as a warning. Choose each layer for its job, with cover performance and placement matched to the electrical design.

Spare plastic electrical ducts need a locating target because there is no cable inside to trace. WAVELAY® Electricity tape combines a printed warning with a stainless-steel conductor for compatible locating equipment. Specify continuous crimped joints, grounding and accessible connection points, with the electrical asset owner confirming the arrangement. Empty today. Findable when the next connection is ready.

Use electronic point markers to identify buried electrical cable joints, duct ends and changes of direction. 3M™ EMS power markers can be located without a buried power supply; programmable iD models can also hold asset details. Match the utility frequency, marker model and locator, and record the installed position at handover. Find the cable route, then find the point that needs attention.

3M™ EMS path-marking tape and rope can mark a buried electrical route without a tracer-wire connection point. Compatible locators detect the independent markers embedded along the product. If one section is cut, the remaining markers can still be found. Select the electrical model for the installation method and check its reading range with the intended locator before specifying it.

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) detects vibrations along optical fibre to help locate digging near buried power cables. Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) measures temperature along sensing fibre to identify hot spots. AP Sensing offers both technologies; optional Real-Time Thermal Rating uses thermal models and load data to guide cable loading. Match the fibre arrangement, site conditions and alarm response to the job: hear the digging, track the heat.
